NZEAN members riding for our future in Feilding in March 2022

Mission

To ensure horse riding/driving access is returned to public places, roads, trails, pathways, high-country pack-trails, beaches, and Crown lands from which our access has been removed and remains available to all New Zealand equestrians.

We seek to be the first point of contact for all recreational equestrians and external bodies on matters of equestrian access.

To provide support and guidance in relation to equestrian issues of access including safety; inclusion; recognition; funding and equal consideration with other users in infrastructure planning, design and construction.

To have the economic, cultural and historical contribution of horses to our communities and nation acknowledged and treasured nationally.

Vision

That every person in New Zealand who wishes to ride/drive a horse for recreation is able to identify and access the public places where this is permitted.
The future of recreational horse riding/driving in New Zealand is preserved for following generations by retaining, regaining and improving equestrian access nationwide.
That equestrian access and safety is legislated for and therefore considered in all future infrastructure.
